December 2021
Dear Praying Friends,
It is only by God’s mercy that we are not consumed. World-wide there is a massive effort for the eradication of the children of the King. But nothing is new under the sun. Even Isaiah faced a similar event as he penned: “….judgement is turned backward, and justice standard afar off: for truth is fallen in the street, and equity cannot enter. Yea, truth faileth; and he that departeth from evil maketh himself a pray: and the LORD saw it, and it displeased him that there was no judgement.” (Isaiah 59:14, 15) When all the nations of the world have succumbed to this state of affairs, where do we turn….but to our God for refuge. (Psalm 11:1-3) Has it come to the place now where “equity cannot enter”? We will see.
We have submitted our application to return to Papua New Guinea this past Monday (Dec. 6). Within these documents was a request for exemptions, letter of intent and purpose of our return, and all was spoken in truth and equity concerning all. It is our prayer that these items will be approved sooner than the 21 day time period they have limited themselves to review it all. From this point it is out of our hands, and in the hands of people we have never met. It is God who can turn the heart of the “King” and those appointed by him to approve or disapprove of our return into PNG. There is nothing lacking on our part to receive the approval and exemptions.
Please pray also that the price for the airline tickets will not increase while we wait. It is recommended for us to secure the tickets this first week of December, but there are several reasons why we cannot at this moment in time. There are so many new variables to consider in this era of “truth….fallen in the streets”, and trodden under foot of men. Oh, Lord Jesus, come quickly. Yet, as we have been commanded, occupy until He comes. So, the Helzerman family continues to be the light that we should be…..reproving, rebuking and exhorting with all longsuffering and doctrine. We also want to be the sweetness that moves people to look unto our Saviour.
Our traveling these last 2 months have been with all safety and only minimal repairs/maintenance on the vehicle. Just in the month of November, we traveled over 7,500 miles, crisscrossing to various churches throughout the continental USA. We saw so many Hand Fulls of provision from the Father’s Hand! The highlight of November’s meetings was the Missions Conference with Treasure Valley Baptist Church family in Meridian, Idaho. Father used them to supply 2 water tanks (for purchase) in Papua New Guinea for our Kaintiba people. They also gave monies to cover our time of “quarantine” in Port Moresby (Lord willing, starting January 15, 2022). We just have to get there, first…..all in God’s time.
We are truly thankful for the much financial gifts we have received this furlough, and over the many years. Father has cared for us in so many Providentially ways. We anticipate how our Lord will work all these things for GOOD, to those who love Him, and are called according to His purpose.
Christi’s Corner: I sit here beside my oldest son, and my niece. I am so blessed to get to spend time with family as we are winding down our time in the states. (Lord Willing)
In preparation to go back to PNG, we dropped off house hold items to ship over to PNG. There was a lot of spaces in the crate that we could fill with clothes. A used clothing store in Pensacola, Florida donated over $200 in various used clothing that we can then distribute to our people. What a blessing!!
Looking forward to seeing our daughter Tabitha, son in law Caleb, and 2 grandchildren when we get back into Papua New Guinea. This is our heritage from the Lord.
For His Glory,
Mark and Christi Helzerman
Hadassah,
Grace, Hope, Serenity, and Glory
